Types of Antennas

Indoor antennas

Can be ideal for those who live close to broadcast stations (within 30 miles). Placed next to or around the TV.
• Easy to install and adjust.
• More susceptible to interference

Outdoor antennas

Ideal for those who live farther away from broadcast stations (over 30 miles), if you live around a lot of trees or in a mountainous area, that could be blocking your signals. Placed on the roof, in a patio or in an attic; reception will be strongest when mounted on the rooftop.
• Avoid some of the interference that indoor TV antennas experience.
• Pick up weaker signals from farther away.

Directional TV antennas

Ideal for if your main channels are coming from one direction; standard for metropolitan areas.
• Stronger signals as these antennas receive signals when pointed toward the source.
• Avoid interference since they largely ignore signals coming from other directions.

Omni/multi-directional antennas

Receives signals from all directions. If you live in the rural or live in a boat, you may need a multi-directional antenna to receive strong signals from different directions. Most indoor TV antennas are all multi-directional, as are many rooftop antennas.

All our antennas receive both VHF and UHF signals. Most of the digital stations broadcasts (channels 14-83) uses UHF. The rest of the channels (2-13) uses “High-band VHF” or “low-band VHF” would require a UHF/VHF antenna.
• UHF antennas also receive less interference than VHF.

Digital and HD antennas
All our antennas are Digital and HD. All our TV receives analog signals and can be used as an HDTV antenna.

Amplified antennas
All our antennas have an amplifier that electronically enhances the signal. This is ideal for areas with weak signals.
Antenna Box Labeling All our antennas are CEA-certified for all color zones.

CEA-certified Antenna Mark for Outdoor Antennas

There are six colors of the Antenna color codes that represent each zone. Each zone requires a different type of antenna to receive optimal reception. The closer to the signal tower, the stronger the reception.

Indoor Antennas
Indoor antennas are not included in the CEA-certified mapping zone. Indoor antennas utilize this mark to assure it will meet or exceeds CEA performance specifications for indoor antennas.
